‘We all have a mountain to climb! – Objective Kilimanjaro

About Societex

THEY DID IT 🎉

Lise and her team reached the summit of Kilimanjaro yesterday, Uhuru Peak at an altitude of 5,895m!!! 👏

Well done to the whole team (no less than 75 people with 60 porters, 7 guides and 3 cooks), what an example of resilience and perseverance!

Arriving in Tanzania last Thursday, they began their adventure with a day of immersion among the Masai, to whom they brought more than 250 kg of school equipment 🎒.
The day was marked by conviviality and exchange, and was punctuated by traditional Masai songs and dances.
On Saturday, the serious business began with the start of the Kilimanjaro climb. The first stage took them to Mandara camp, at an altitude of 2,800 metres. The next day, they reached Horombo camp at 3720 metres, followed by a day of acclimatisation at 4100 metres to allow their bodies to adapt to the high altitude. They then set off early to reach the Kibo camp at 4,700 metres, before making the final ascent to the summit.

Hats off to them!
